The Enrichment Center in the Presidio
Daily cognitive engagement, social connection, and structured support for adults with Alzheimer's and dementia - while giving caregivers time to rest.
We’re Here to Help
Learn how our Enrichment Center can support your loved one, and take the first step towards visiting in person.
The Brain Loves Company
Alzheimer's and dementia leads to cognitive decline, but studies show that structured activities, exercise and movement, art and music classes and discussion topics that challenge the mind, and meaningful social engagement all boost well‑being and quality of life, and may even help slow the progression of dementia symptoms.
You'll find all of this and more at the Enrichment Center in San Francisco's beautiful Presidio.
Cognitive and Social Enrichment
Group exercise, memory stimulation, and gentle movement help reduce anxiety, boost mood, and prevent further cognitive decline - all in a supportive setting.
Creative Arts and Outdoor Experiences
Enjoy music, art, bike rides in our piloted tri-shaw, excursions in our electric vehicle, guided nature outings in the Presidio, and more.
Personalized Support and Nutritious Meals
Freshly-prepared hot meals are tailored to individual needs, while personalized assistance is given by caring staff trained in dementia-sensitive support.
Grants and Financial Support at the Enrichment Center
Getting started can feel like a big step when exploring care options, but we offer several grants to help support your journey.
You may be eligible for these grants and respite support programs, which cover days at the Enrichment Center. This can be a helpful way to experience the program and see the value of a structured, engaging day.
Many families who begin this way choose to continue their Enrichment Center experience after seeing the positive impact.
These grants and financial support programs:
- May cover a set number of days at the Enrichment Center
- Available for qualifying families in the Bay Area
- Designed to support caregivers and individuals living with memory loss
Availability and eligibility vary. Funding may not always be available.

Sherri W.
Family Caregiver
"The Enrichment Center is a beautiful site for me to leave my love one while I receive respite, and where my love one can be stimulated intellectually as well as physically.
As the Caregiver for my husband it warms my heart and eases my mind to know unequivocally that he's being mentally stimulated, cared for, and is safe. It's as though the Enrichment Center staff is an extension of our family. They are at all times anticipating the needs of my love one, as well as mine."
Nick D.
Family Caregiver
"The Enrichment Center's staff is kind, considerate, and loving to each person, providing a customized approach to each person’s needs. When you walk in, you can see and feel the affection. They have been easy to communicate with and responsible.
I’m always in awe of its location. Activities abound in the famed Presidio at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Walking in the forest full of tall eucalyptus trees, on the beach, or sitting on the grass at Crissy Field is a calming place each day."
Ray V.
Family Caregiver
"Very kind and caring staff in a beautiful setting in the heart of the Presidio. The activities were fun and the food was good (said my uncle, who was a restaurateur). The director, Clara, also gave me a lot of good advice on resources to contact for my uncle’s care in terms of living facilities. A very cool place and a very good vibe."
